High Fat Food should be reduced

One first tip for losing weight is not to reduce drastically what you eat at every meal, but substitute the high-fat food with a low-fat food. If you are used to eat pasta, for example, reducing it will be a first step.

If food has a very important part in your diet, do not underestimate the amount of calories that some drinks have and how much they can be influencing in your diet. Alcohol, first of all should be completely cut out of your meals as the calories that it has are enormous. If you are an habitual beer drinker, stop immediately as beer and other kind of alcoholic drinks will only damage and hamper your efforts. Do not think that alcohol is the only drink to avoid: others such as cokes, sodas and drinks with a high quantity of sugars must be all avoided. The only allowed drink that should be part of your diet is water.

Another important tip for losing weight is avoiding to overeat: it is not necessary to make your stomach feel completely full, as at the end of each meal you should have a sensation of space in your stomach. Most of all when you are full, there is no point in continuing to eat. Moreover, remember that the brain takes a bit to receive the message of satiety.

According to many nutritionist, a good diet would not work with the absence of physical activity: the America College of Sports Medicine recommends almost 35-40 minutes of sport for 3-5 days per week. It could seem silly but, for a person who is not an “habitué” of practicing sports, even going up and down the stairs of the house could be a good start. Taking up a sport that you could like is the following step.

Following all these little tips could be an answer to those who do not know how to : remember, though, that once you have lost the desired weight, your body does not have to be neglected once again.

Everybody surely knows the definition of obesity, even if the effects that it can have do not seem to worry the most of obese people.

In fact, obesity is a medical condition caused by the excess of fat accumulation in our body, due to excessive ingestion of food, lack of phyisical activities and bad alimentation. As many people do know, this condition can seriously affect them since it could cause breathing problems, heart diseases, diabetes, etc. Even though some people tend to get obese for their genetic susceptibility, the most of obese people ingest many more calories than what they should and they do not do any physical activity which could really help reducing a good part of the food that they eat.

To state whether a person is obese or not, it has been used an index called BMI, body mass index, which divides the person’s body mass by the square of their weight. The number that comes out determines the state of the person. When people realize to be getting obese, they want to stop it immediately. In many cases, it is really hard and, if they do not follow a diet or their doctor or nutritionist’s advice, they risk to worsen the situation instead of sorting it out. When people arrive at the point that they realize they are not able to respect a strict diet to lose weight, they opt for surgery. As a matter of fact, one ,but a bit risky, way to resolve obesity problems is stomach banding: this surgery solution consists of a band of silicone placed around the stomach. This band is used in case the patient has a body mass index that corresponds to 40 or more than that. When it is placed, the band creates a sort of pouch that hold more or less from 110 to 220 grams of food, slowing the passage of food from this pouch to the lower part of the stomach. As the brain registers that the stomach is full, since it is the upper part of it that sends the message of satiety, the person tends to be less hungry and eat less.

According to many doctors, the gastric band is not the safest way to fight obesity, as it is a drastic solution and it could cause other problems, such as gastrointestinal pains. Is it always better to ask a nutritionist before you decide to employ this method in order to fight obesity.

Fast food and obesity, how are they related? 0

Our era is characterized by quickness and people, most of all when they work, prefer to buy their food from a fast food. The food that we buy from a fast food is not as healty as the home made one. It is understandable though, that people like to save their time when they work and they cannot be bothered preparing food after a long working day. If saving time is an advantage that people have, by eating in a fast food, eating fat and not fresh food is surely a disadvantage.

Sandwiches with any kind of sauce, hamburgers, chocolates, ice creams and cakes strike people’s attention, who cannot resist from buying them. And what about fried food: that is the worst for someone who is trying to lose some weight. The problem comes up with drinks as well: everybody knows that drinking water is healthy for our body, on the contrary people cannot help buying a coke with a hamburger which seems a lot more tasty than a simple bottle of water. It is not surprising that fast food is strictly linked to obesity problems not only among adults but among children too. Children prefer hamburgers and cakes to an healthy soup of legumes. And when a saucy hamburger with a fanstastic and attractive toy is offered to them, it is really clear that they cannot resist to force their parents to buy them “their favourite meal”. Much funnier but less healthy: the childhood obesity statistics show that 16% of children, aged between 9 and 16, are obese or overweight.

The problem is that the food, prepared in a fast food, does not contain as many proteins as the one that mothers make at home. And if eating in a fast food becomes an habitude, it could accelerate the obesity process in anyone, not only in children. Surely, nobody will ban fast food, as eating it once in a while will not affect anybody’s health, but those who go quite often should really be careful about what they eat.

At least, these people should try to have a regular physical activity in order to regulate their system and avoid an excessive fat accumulation.

Of course, not eating in a fast food does not necessarily mean losing weight. Fast foods are one of many reasons for which people get overweight, but not the only one. The best way to avoid it is matching a less fat diet with some sports, that is the most productive help to reduce fat in our body
