Losing Weight while working : effective tips! 1
Keeping the Pounds Away After 30
You eat right, exercise and try to take good care of yourself. Or maybe you just never had to think about it before. So, why is it that those pounds keep seeming to add up as the years go by? As women age, keeping that “girlish” figure truly does become more difficult, not only by virtue of age, but also because so many women are, quite frankly, just to busy to put forth the full-fledged effort necessary to keep the weight away. But that doesn’t mean you can’t keep it away. You can, but you need to tackle the problem head on. Here are a few suggestions that might help, no matter how busy you are.
First, even though it seems counterintuitive, you need to eat breakfast. All the diets out there encourage you to eat less, but that doesn’t mean eat less often. Rather, eating a good breakfast revs up your metabolism and keeps you from binge snacking and eating the rest of the day.
To eat less, focus on limiting serving sizes. It’s amazing how you can be satisfied with less if you put your mind to it. Planning your meals and packing your lunch/snacks can really help you with both what you eat and how much you eat. How often have you come home from work, found nothing appealing to make in the fridge and grabbed for the phone to order pizza? Or, “starving” at work, headed for the vending machine? Too often to keep those pounds away. Your best defense, in this case, is a good offense of proportioned, nutritional foods right at your fingertips so you’re not tempted. Time used in preparation is time saved on the treadmill.
Finally, the “e” word. Exercise. Get it whenever you can. Take the stairs, park further away, stand up, do what ever you can to be in motion. Try to schedule it as a regular part of your day. From spinning, to yoga, to strength training to whatever hot new workout is popular, exercise is exercise. The kind isn’t as important as the execution. And, if you have trouble with commitment, find a workout partner—someone who can guilt you into exercising when you start to stray. Too often, working women without that extra push put exercise at the end of the list and never quite get there or by the time they do, they’re exhausted and just give up.
In truth, there’s no one simple way to keep those pounds away, but there is a way. You just need to look at the whole picture and realize that a healthy weight, like everything else as we age, is more difficult to maintain. Think lifestyle, not diet and you can be successful, healthy and, most importantly, happy.
